Today is flag day, which is also the birthday of the United States Army.

On 14 June 1775 the Continental Congress adopted "The American Continental Army" after reaching a consensus position in The Committee of the Whole. Congress undertook to raise ten companies of riflemen, approved an enlistment form for them, and appointed a committee (including Washington and Schuyler) to draft rules and regulations for the government of the army. See: [1].

This makes the US Army is 230 years old. Strangely enough our army is one year and twenty days older than our country (4 July 1776). Rob, our resident U.S. Army (Retired) expert brought a flag for his door today.
