The flyers claim to be by "The Knight Writers" but I haven't been able to find anything on google. Is this a joke? The meeting's on monday, Nov 3 in HEAV 107 at 8:00 pm. I think I'll be going for a bit of comic relief. It might make for a fun debate. As per dictionary.com: "A radio or radar transmitter-receiver activated for transmission by reception of a predetermined signal." In other words some central thinger would send out a secret code and a transponder in your id card would respond with your location. At least that is the paranoid theory. RFID tags actually do something like this. This thing just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I may have to show up at that meeting just to see if this is a hoax or not. Then let's suggest to the people that it may not be just a government conspiracy, but one that ties in with everything from aliens, to bigfoot, to sporks... Cause, you know, just cause I'm paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not still out to get me. A) Purdue does have a project whereby the WiFi access points can report your approximate location when you use wireless from a PDA or laptop. One intended use is to let software tell you where the nearest printer you can use is. I think the eStadium project might also plan to use this info. B) You need a login to use wireless. C) The new ID cards. D) The brouhaha over RFID chips that could easily be included in the ID cards. Hmmm, does anyone sell devices that can detect and zap RFID chips? After all, I work for Purdue, so obviously I'm PART of the conspiracy! What interesting data we could gather: There's one in his Dorm room! Oh no, another just came INTO the dorm room! That person is a FEMALE!! Call the cops!! Alert the Ninjas! Send in the Federal Marshalls! Oh no, another student just went into Harry's! He appears... to be... DRINKING!!! Secret plots revealed!! Actually I'm jealous I didn't think of this idea first... see how many freaks you can get to come to your paranoia meeting. wab. Happy Halloween! =)
