Secondary Spell Casters:
Bards are too powerful and paladins are too weak, lets fix them. Bards, Paladins, and Rangers are considered to be secondary spell casters. Secondary spell casters begin casting at 4th level. Bards still cast mage spells and Rangers/Paladins still cast priest spells. At fourth level they are a first level caster for the purposes of determining spell effects. Thereafter their casting level advances by one per level. For example a 9th level bard could cast a fireball, but it would do 6d6 points of damage because he is considered to be a 6th level caster. The spell progression for all secondary casters appears below.
