Secondary Spell Casters:
Bards are too powerful and paladins
are too weak, lets fix them. Bards, Paladins, and Rangers are
considered to be secondary spell casters. Secondary spell
casters begin casting at 4th level. Bards still cast mage
spells and Rangers/Paladins still cast priest
spells. At fourth level they are a first level
caster for the purposes of determining spell
effects. Thereafter their casting level advances by one per
level. For example a 9th level bard could cast a fireball, but
it would do 6d6 points of damage because he is considered to
be a 6th level caster. The spell progression for all secondary
casters appears below.
